  1. Short: Stripped Nameserver for AmiTCP V2.x

  6. This is a simple NameServer for AmiTCP v2.x.
  7. Why?
  8. Because we were tired of continously updating our hosts files on all our
  9. connected amigas.
  10. Only the A records (those are the address records) are used everything else is
  11. ignored.
  12. To prevent named from expanding the host name add a point after the name
  13. (as if you didn't know that already).
  14. Take a good look at the sample named.hosts file.

  16. Installation:
  17. copy Named to the serv directory.
  18. copy db/named.hosts to AmiTCP:db and edit it.
  19. add the line: run AmiTCP:serv/named to the startnet file located in the bin
  20. directory.
